i hear that the best way to get high in google is to link to other sites and have them link to you. i'm wondering if its still possible to link to another persons site and they link to mine, but have it so the links are the same colour as the background so they look invisible, will googlespider thing still pick up on them?

also anyone want to link with each other? is there not websites where i can link my website to?

you should really read google's terms of service

basically, anything that's hidden can get your site penalised.

if you do do that, maybe you will get away with it, but if the spider's filters pick it up a penalty will be given

(hidden links, hidden text)

i see, that kind of sucks but i guess i'll have to work around it.

what is it called when you do it, i hear something like linkbinding?

how do you go about finding people to do this with? i was thining of just contacting cleaning companies in london, but the trouble is that they obvisiouly wouldn't know how to add a link on there site. Do you just email random people? what sites/people are likely to want to link?

reciporical links (did I spell that right) .. in SEO legend (not necessarily true) they are not as high value as in-bound links (i.e. one way, to your site).

look at where similar people are getting links from.

write to websites and ask if you can link in. Most will say no. But maybe a few will give it a try.

If they don't have power over their website then it's a no go anyway. (coz they'll have to pay someone to put it in)

I found with my site that reciprical links made a huge difference, I managed to get links on a few high-profile sites and it brought my page ranking up massively. From 1 to 5, which is reasonable with google.

However I also promoted my site a lot manually and wrote loads of articles on my site that I knew other sites would have interest in, that way more sites lnked to me and again brought up my ranking.

Unlike the previous poster I found/heard that reciprical links were better than one way links.

Also it is better to have links from sites which have similar subject matter.

Have u thought about a google adwords account? so you can get paid ranking too. I have a specialised area that you deal in, you may find it doesn't cost as much as you think.

well my company is a home and office cleaning company based in guildford. Am i still able to write articles on my site? if so how do i go about getting people to want them?

PR ain't everything though. It only helps, and is one factor in many.

One client said "look at the PR, it's 4". me says "oh very good - where are you on Google's index?" ... "we're not in Google's top 500 yet". I ask "how long have you had the website live". Answer "12 months".

Try not to read too much into PR.
