I've had a nightmare recently where my net went down and thinking it was the router i started fiddling and stupidly reset it. Then found out it was an outage to do with the isp. I ended up with a router that wouldnt work as i had no idea what settings etc to use.

Anyway i managed to get it back up and running and got on the net but now i'm having issues with MW2. Firstly i had a strict NAT so i followed instructions on forwarding the ports which i done and the NAt is now open, but i still cant seem to find any games. It jsut hangs on looking for games all the time.

If i go to Team Deathmatch i can get a game but i'm assuming thats something to do with the huge numbers in that mode as opposed to the others, although sadly its not the game type i usually play.

I've tested the ports with a program and they are open but now i'ma bit lost as to what could be the proplem.

I'm using a Linksys AG241 id that helps.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Yep.

The other weird thing is i have the exact same issue when i plug in the old Thompson Speedtouch router that i got with my isp BE. I can forward the ports which changes the Nat to open, but it still cant find a game.

Is your PC on a Static IP?
- If not, those port forwards will likely be useless next time you connect.
Got the latest firmware?

I'll have to take a look at the options on mine when i get home.

Yeah i'm positive i have a static ip.

Not sure about the latest firmware although it did work perfectly before i reset the router, which i assume would have been the same firmware.

It would be great if you could take a look at your settings and let me know.

Not sure if this has much bearing or not but when you forward the porst you have to input the last digit in your ip for each of the ports. I wasnt exactly sure which ip it is that goes in the box but i ran a oprt checker tool:

http://www.portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm

and when i ran it it told me which ip it was checking and you couldnt seem to choose so i assumed that was the ip i needed to enter when i was forwarding the ports. Is that correct?

Networking and internet connection stuff is way over my head so apologies if i'm not describing this stuff too well.

Anyone out there able to play MW2 and own a Linksys router abkle to help??

Since its worked before it must be a simple setting thats stopping me, I just dont know what it is.
