Hi, this problem has been happening for a few months now. Basically the router doesn't seem to be automatically renewing the 4 day DHCP lease. I have upgraded the firmware to the latest version 1.45.11 for the BEFSR41 v2 model router and its still there....I did it a few minutes ago where I entered the web configuration page for the router clicked on the status page and then renew DHCP, initially it reset to 1 hour so I clicked renew again and it reset to 4 days. Anyone got any experience with this fault?
Many Thanks

you can't renew a DHCP lease unlesss the client releases it first. This con be done by issuing a DHCP release command in command prompt or rebooting the PC..

The lease must be released and become a free address in the pool before it can be re-issued. It sounds silly but computers are stupid and that's how they work.

Ok many thanks for that. I guess then I'll just have to keep doing it manually like I described

you'd think with all that processing power they could go "oh no one else wants it so sure have it another 4 days." but no it has to go "thanks for returning that, here, have a new one" *gives the same one back*. Don't blame me, i didn't invent it
