I always found the Linksys wireless monitor a pain in the neck. And if you set it to use the XP version it just sets it back after a few hours.
And I found the link to be a little unstable.
So what to do:
1. Using the link in the start menu or Add/Remove programs, uninstall the Linksys wireless adaptor.
2. Insert the CD that came with the adaptor.
3. Right click "My Computer" > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > Network Adaptors > Right click "Linksys Wireless Adaptor" > Update Driver.
4. Choose "Specified Location", and make sure "Removable media" ONLY is ticked.
5. Hit next and allow it to install the driver.
6. Now you get the Windows XP wireless monitor ONLY.
