So us and Linksys wireless routers, the wireless always drops out atleast once a week (it seems) & no reviews I find say anything about Linksys wireless being bad. Should I try putting DD-WRT on it (we had a Linksys that didn't really help) or just get a D-Link? The router never really feels hot, it is a tiny bit warm, but not overheating warm IMHO, plus whenever this happens the wired is fine & a reset fixes it right away...

Try dd-wrt by all means if you are having problems, it cant hurt. personal preference is try tomato if it's available for your router - you havent said what router it is.

I can't help you if the OP is gibberish.

Sorry.

I'd say on a scale of 0 to 10, 10 being gibberish, the op was about 3. Surprised you can't understand it.

I'd give it a 7 if only because this made some sense :

I could rip the OP into it's constituent parts and cross examine it to find out what the real issue is. However I can't be bothered, as the OP can't be bothered to proof read his post.

  • Owns a Linksys wireless router.
  • Wireless seems unreliable with it.
  • Wired is fine even when the wireless drops out.
  • A reset fixes it.
  • Can't find any negative comments on the router that the wireless is unreliable (I assume checking the model he owns).
  • Wondering if DD-WRT may help or should just get a D-Link router.

Better?

To OP, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try DD-WRT, assuming the Linksys model you have is easy to flash back to stock.

You could also look at the higher end Asus routers which have pretty reliable wifi.
