My router has started playing up.
Occasionally my pc wont see the router, just refuses to find it. Yet my girlfriends laptop appears fine to connect.
I can reboot the router by unplugging it, and most times it comes back up and is seen right away. Occasionally it will take an encouraging thump (which I am sure does nothing but makes me happy) and a second or third reboot.
Im trying to pin this down as to what it is, ive reserved IP addresses on the router. I think if the laptop is on first is when I see problems.
Generally on the network it will be used by My phone, HTC Wildfire, Laptop, PC, Wii, when it gets used, Cannon Pixma printer, which is usually off when turning the pc on. A logitech suqeezebox boom, again usually off when switching pc on.
Using WEP security.
Firmware v2.0.01
Currently I can see its using the 20MHz channel. There is one other wireless network that is occasionally within range but its at the limit of its range.
DMZ is enabled.
Not sure what I can change to stop my router from being annoying. Signal strnegth is excellent when it finds the router, its only a room away from the PC. Its a N network card in the pc and G in the laptop.
So any ideas what I can do?
Perfectly open to the idea of taking an axe to the piece of **** and buying a new one... As I would find the axe method of fixing this annoying router very therapeutic.
