i just dug out this router for my current student household, as the existing belkin crap router just keeps failing.

I was wondering if anyone here has the same router setup and using virgin media broadband. If so, may i ask for what router settings you are using.

Thanks guys

I have a WRT54G using Tomato, in terms of settings for Virgin, because you use their modem there is not a huge lot of settings to change on the WAN side, howerver on the LAN side you can change loads.

im not 100% sure, but before i had a load of screenshots from my friend telling me which settings to change, to get the most out of it, such as boosting the signal strength, upping the voltage etc? im not entirely sure, so i came here for help :P

I have personally done very little to the actual setup. I haven't bothered with upping the CPU speed or signal strength. I have, however, got one of the routers to act as a client on the wireless network for my main computer as the USB wireless dongle I got came with rubbish Vista drivers. :)

ehhh.. does that mean you get faster speeds that way? i'm just using a HP laptop with the built in Intel Wireless adapter, the signal says i get between 24% to 31% signal.. :(

one new question.. :D

how do i kick a user off the network since they're whoring the entire bandwidth?
