LinkSys WRT54GS V 7 replacement

hi Guys, I am after some advice.

I am looking into buying a new router to replace the rather old G router (LinkSys WRT54GS V 7) that I have installed at the moment.

I am on 20 Meg Virgin Media, I do a lot of gaming (COD etc) and surfing, with a NAs attached for important files, a PS3, and a couple of Laptops.

So looking for a fast, rock solid reliable wireless router, perhaps something from the N class??

Yes, I know nothing about routers and networking...so all help advice most appreciated.

I'm also looking for a new router, and was going to get the Linksys WRT610n, but after many forum search’s I’m now very tempted to get the Netgear WNDR3700...
