Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router [HELP]

I got a new Linksys WRT54GS Router yesterday and have been uploading files for a quite few hours, for some reason it keeps cutting the connection off (Virgin Media 10MB). I have the basic encryption enabled on the router (WPA). With my computer hard-wired and the other two with wireless
Does anyone know how i can stop it from disconnecting?

When it disconnects, is it restarting? Does just the wireless go off? Can you still access other machines or the router?

To be honest, the new version WRT54GS (and WRT54G) is a pig in a poke.

I am not sure if its restarting i just usually unplug the modem and router and it comes back online, mines hooked up to the router through the ethernet cable and mine still goes off not just the wireless computers

it could be over heating.
read somewere that the chips in the wrt54 can get very hot and do that sometimes, so i have opened mine up an put heatsinks on all the chips on mine

no its not the same without the router becuase the other wired router we had worked fine with the modem few days ago
