Linksys WUSB54AG problems

Can anybody help? I had talktalk broadband installed last week and they have put a new router in with a password (is it WEP?)

My laptops connect OK but my desktop has the above USB wifi adapter and now it doesn't even see the router.

I am trying to uninstall the driver and reinstall but can't work out how to do it, it doesn't show on the control panel list of apps and there is nothing in the manual either.

I don't think the WUSB54AG supports WPA2 which is why it is probably failing to connect with the new wireless network.

Exactly the problem. I spent hours today trying to get it to work. I have now changed the talktalk router to WPA and it connects OK

Thanks

You're welcome. Rather than reducing the security you might want to consider replacing the WUSB54AG with something newer. I would guess you could pick up something suitable for less than a tenner.

That is the other option as it's only a 'G' adapter. It may be worth getting an 'N' adapter but for general surfing will we notice the better speed?

my password is g4F8FT3SN

That should be OK shouldn't it? lol

I might see how the Linksys goes. I think Youtube could be faster but for general surfing it seems fine
