Hello,

Trying to a a linksys wusb54gs wireless usb adapter working with a linksys wrt3OON router.

Laptop on wireless working fine no problems with internet.

Unable to get desktop to connect through the wusb54gs.

Reinstalled wusb54gs with latest drivers <not using linksys connection program using built in windows xp wireless>

lists wireless connection with limited or no connecitivity.

i want to no how to setup the desktop pc with a static ip and dns address to work with the router ? to solve the program and get on the net.

Thanks Ben :)

Use Windows Zero Configuration Utility.
The software Linksys provides causes a hell of a lot of errors in transmission.

lists wireless connection with limited or no connecitivity.
Assuming your router's IP is 192.168.1.1;
Set your DHCP IP range to 192.168.1.50 and upwards on the router.

Set your Static IP on the wireless adapter to any number between 1 and 50. Not including them though.
Your DNS and Gateway are the router now, so that'll be 192.168.1.1 in both cases. Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

Happy hunting!
