Anyone who has returned a faulty product to Linksys can they give details of the process?

I have contacted them under the 3 year manufacturers warranty and recieved an rma number and also a UPS return label,is this free postage and because the only UPS drop off point is in London will they come to the NE and pick up my return without any extra charge?

Also is there not a rma place in the uk?

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Why didn't you ask them about the returns process?

I'm guessing as you've been given a UPS label it's not going to cost you anything.

I can't send it through the retailer as it is past the 1 year shop warranty.

I did ask them about the return process but it wasn't clear to me as it says to drop off the package at the local UPS depot, but when i look at this it is in London some 350 miles or so away from me.

I sent back a failed wireless router about a year back, phoned tech support 6pm on a sunday, they were actually there (I wasn't actually expecting them to be open) we did some troubleshooting checks, found it to be indeed, dead, they gave me an RMA number and an email address, few emails went back and forth, they sent me a form to fill in, sign and send back (filled details in on computer, printed it, signed it and re-scanned it) oh and another copy of it goes in the box, then they wanted copies of an invoice, and luckily becuase I bought it online it was easy enough to get that off the online system (hell, if you've seen my attempts at fileing...), they then sent me a link to a pre-paid label at UPS, you print it out, stick it on the parcel, phone UPS to arrange pickup, it'll be collected at the arranged time, and when they get it a new one will be sent out (bloody parcel people managed to deliver it to the wrong house tho  )

Hope this is helpful :)

Thanks Adam_151 really helpfull info.So even though i am miles away from London they will still come and pick it up?

Phoned them yesterday and they are coming to pick it up today. What a mess on with the label and instructions for packaging and sending (should be clearer).

Anyway thanks everyone for the help. :)

You can still return to a retailer after the Shop warranty provided you ahve proof of purchase and the product is within manufacurer warranty. What you can't get is a cash refund like you could under a shop returns policy. However most retailers will give you a replacement on the spot if they're satisfied the product is faulty and they can get an RMA on it. this is far quicker than RMA yourself. BUT should the retailer no longer stock the product then you may well find them reluctant to do it.

I had same thing situation. Took them about a week for new one to arrive (newer model). Its good of them paying all postage but its hard to understand whats going on but after couple of emails they arranged with ups to come and pick it up for me
