I can see why Cisco sold Linksys, their products are ****

I've owned 2 x3000 routers of which both were faulty and now my second dlan converter is failing. The first just stopped powering on and the second is now dying and is having bandwidth issues. :(

Nb buying companies used to be more about recruiting more engineers than getting products/brands for Cisco. I worked near the Cisco campus in San Jose in 98..2000 and at that stage they were putting up new buildings at a rate of about 1 every couple of months each requiring a couple of hundred engineers to fill so they found buying companies was the quickest way to get staff! So they may not ever have been interested in Linksys and are now just offloading the brand.

Glad the sale went through, two brands with a reputation for shovelling utter trash can now by united under a common owner.

The last decent Linksys router I owned was the WRT54GL, because it fully supported 3rd party firmwares :p

Have tried a few others new models in other people's homes etc, they just don't inspire the same confidence that other premium models do.
