Hi all. Have just installed Pardus 2008. The installation was easy but I can't get connected to the internet via my Speedtouch USB modem.

Is this a common problem with Linux distros? Or should I try an alternative?

Thanks.

Generally speaking .. You should plug in USB modems into the REAR USB ports ( Mobo Mounted).

Dunno why.. I had an issue with a Netgear USB wireless dongle on Feisty and googled it. Thats what it recommended and thats what worked !!

That's what I did and the modem appears to be ok - no flashing lights and all green. So why I can't set up a connection ala windows is beyond me.
