Is there anywhere I can get hold of a recovery download for an Acer Aspire One to put the original OS back on?

I installed winxp on mine a while back and since I have lost the original box with the recovery disc in for it...

Any help appreciated.

Google for a utility called unetbootin simply run the exe select you distro and the freshly formatted USB Drive and it does it all for you

Just pop that in the aspire and boot from it

Ive used it to install ubuntu on both an aspire one, an old advent laptop and my current eeepc

Have you considered putting Ubuntu NBR on it? I must say I find it excellent:D

Couple of days since he last posted. Is that a bad Omen ?

I must say that I prefer UNR v 9:04 layout over 9:10 and the colour scheme on 9:10 is yuk. I know it can be easily changed
