I know the few basic "NAS" distros around, and can assume what they do, FTP, SMB, NFS.

But are there any other distros that has anything more "fun". I am still wondering between a small PC and a NAS box (noting I want more than 4 drives).

Stuff like BT download is nice, and what I haven't seen on standalone units yet, NNTP (Which I would prefer tbh).

I realise I could just install my own distro choice and do this myself, but I am looking for something all nicely represented in a web based panel etc. (no, webmin is not a good option, unless its a specific NAS style module).

Will be looking at CF for the distro, maybe dual cards. Using a CF adaptor (all my HDDs will be SATA)

Is there such around like this?

Also i'm still looking at motherboards with around 8 SATA atleast, or should I just look at cheap 4 port SATA cards (how cheap am I looking?) No raid needed.
