My old epson r300 seems to have a terminally blocked print head so I'm looking to get a new photo printer.

Googling gives the following candidates,

HP Photosmart D7160, (HP do have linux drivers for download)

Canon Pixma IP4200. The newer IP4300 doesn't appear to have linux drivers yet.

The HP looks a better printer (built in card reader, colour monitor etc), however if anyone else has bought a linux compatible photo printer I'd be happy to hear what you chose!

Thanks muchly in advance

I don't know specifically as I'm not very up-to-date on printers, but HP has traditionally dominated the Unix-like printing market. They usually have excellent drivers for Linux.
