ok guys just having my first foray into linux useage hooraah next up is a lentil casserole some sandals and a beard, along with adopting penguins i jest

anyway whats it like for gaming????

anything worth trying before i decide to boot back to xp

Some games to try under Linux (need a full copy): Quake 3 (Icculus version: http://icculus.org/quake3/ or ID version), Quake 4, Doom 3, UT2004, RTCW (Return to Castle Wolfenstein), ET (Enemy Territory) and Nexuiz (http://www.alientrap.org/nexuiz/).

If you are feeling very brave, you could try and get WINE/Cedega running. Quite a few other games run via these on Linux (such as BF2, EVE, etc..)

i've personally had no problems running CoD and FarCry under linux using their installers.
