Im at uni and doing a few things in linux and would like to know the space required for the install and not much else what size HDD would be worth getting for just linux as a mess about OS not a main OS.

Also i assume i can duel boot windows and linux

ok thanks for the help
ill just disconnect my windows HDD when i install Linux
cant remember what distribution ill use the one my uni gives me.

cause ill have 3 drives when i buy a linux drive
1.Vista
2.Linux
3.Media / games
i dont plan on using my media drive with linux so when i get my drive ill post for more help thanks.

my setup is
1.300GB windows
2.750GB Media
3.Linux for study use only - network and programming FORTH and OZ

dont need the linux drive to use media drive in anyway.

e6600 , p5n32e,4gb ram, 8800gtx

dont think my pc spec should cause issues as im only looking for basic use to play around with not to use as a main OS in anyway unless ofc it is really good

The uni im at use FEDORA 8.0
got a 80GB HDD i assume this is plenty of space for linux
Also is this distribution alright to use or shall i use a different version instead?
