Just trying to install a copy of Ubuntu to a small computer i have, but it does not have a CD rom installed.

This computer currently only had DOS 6.22 installed, is their any programs i can use so this computer can be seen over my network (workgroup network).

I have tried MS Client but just keep getting errors.

The computer is a very old Dell GX50 Optiplex, and it does not seem to like me trying to attach a non dell CD rom to it.

Cheers

hey beansprout, nice to see another fan of tom's root n boot :D

Is there any way of performing PXE net installs with ubuntu? I know you can with RHEL/Fedora but then I am a RH hoe :)

I have in the past installed Gentoo from a floppy, largely involving toms root n boot, but I do seem to remember a remotely mounted Cdrom somewhere involved too... UIt was a few years back, and my (mildly hungover) memory is hazy...Sorry! :p
