Linux - Merge 2 folders

Hi there, we have two folders with the same name in two different locations on a server. Is there a good Linux command we can use to merge the two? I'e not replace files of the same name just copy different files into one of the folders?

Linux version is Red Hat, although if there is a command in Ubuntu it would also be handy.

Possibly something like rsync may do this but I'm not 100% sure on the "fullness" of what it can do as I only started using it recently.

I think cp -n would do this just fine for you. E.g:

# cd myfolder1
# cp -n * /other/place/myfolder1/

Thanks for your input guys. We are using rsync to do this.
