Hey,

Put a Nvidia Geforce 210 into my sisters PC today
(Core 2 Duo E8400 + 2GB 1333 DDR3 Ram)

It runs Linux Mint,Now its displaying fine..res looks okay but ran sysinfo and also tried other commands to get up the specs of the card,From what i can see its running at 33mhz core..now im not sure if that's because of power saving or that's what its actually running at as ive not installed any drivers?

can anyone explain to me how to install the drivers for this card in Linux..the easy and friendliest way for a linux noob?

I can get the drivers from Nvidias website, but what do i do with the downloaded file lol..

really appreciate the help.

I have the same card with mint on the spare Pc upstairs, it's really easy to install.

open a terminal and type "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa -y" (without the quotes)
Then type "sudo apt-get update" (without quotes)
when that is finished, close the terminal, open start menu and type "drivers", the "driver manager" will appear, click it.
Give it a minute to search for the latest driver, and install it when it's ready.
when all that is done, restart the PC, and to check the gfx card details, open the start menu and search for nvidia.

Worked perfect,thank you so much.

Wondering,Is there anyway to tweak the fan settings on the 210?..i see no option to in the "thermal" part of nvidia control panel..this card is LOUD...i think its running at 100% all the time.

Thanks again. :)
