any one have any idea how i can get linux mint to recognise a usb web cam?

its an a4 tech webcam my nephew gave me... no installation disc
its usb. have plugged it in but its not being recognised. works fine on window though.

no i have a desktop pc.... will look for cheese now... sorry ive never had a cam before so no idea what to do.
