Linux n00b - quick question

Hey peeps, seeing as I'm running 32-bit Windows on a 64-bit processor, would I be able to set up a dual boot of Vista32 and Ubuntu 64-bit without much in the way of problems? It needs to be Ubuntu as that's the version we need to know for Uni work. Thanks in advance

Edit: been reading up, but I'm not sure about something. Basically, what is the difference between Ubuntu and Kubuntu? Ta again!

So you'd recommend sticking with Ubuntu because it's what I'm supposed to be using? Never used any Linux before, but I'd often thought I'd like to try it

Quick update - just downloaded Ubuntu 7.10, and am messing around with the Live CD at the mo. Will try a full install when my new hard drive arrives - want separate drives for Windows and Linux.
