Linux on portable devices

Hi, anyone here experimented with installing Linux onto anything non-pc? I'm think of messing around with trying to install a dist onto my AV500 and then seeing if I could get a mame to run on it... was curious if anyone here had any experiences they fancied sharing

Oh, and for the record, I don't know a huge amount about linux, only started about a week ago using ubuntu at work, installing compiling etc though I know a fair amount of C++ just never got around to it

www.ipodlinux.org & www.dslinux.org are both very good ones which I play with.
Good for the OMG factor even if not strictly useful. (Can run VI & play some cool games though

)

I expected an xbox and ipod, but not the DS one...

Shame the DS didn't take SD memory, it could have been quite amazing with linux, though its WiFi probably works pretty well with it...
