linux on remote desktop

Hi so after many years i took the plunge and removed all my whs 2011 files to a couple of drives and disconnected them from the machine and wiped everything else bar the system drive, so now looking to try a linux distro, i tried mint many years back, i don't game and just use it for learning and general use, would need to remote into it from a win 10 desktop.
so what would be recommended ?

NoMachine. Copying files is a little tedious but it works well otherwise.

Remmina works for me.
