Just looking at tsohost for hosting and they strongly suggest using Linux over Windows.

I've not done much with PHP but I'm just wondeing how easy it is to create web forms using PHP and if there are any other advantages using Linux over Windows.

I do some web stuff here (though mainly design using Abobe CS), and I have created the occassional form using ASP and CDONTS.

Just wondering what others choose and why.

If you're familiar with ASP and want to continue with that (and go on to .Net etc) then go for Windows

With Tsohost pick their clustered hosting - you'll be able to use both Windows and Linux for your hosting.

Php for webforms is fairly straightforward, I tend to use free or open source scripts from Hotscripts and others and develop from there.

It's cheaper and less resource intensive (for them)

I've only ever used TSOs windows hosting myself and can't fault it at all.

Thought as much. I'm also thinking of the windows hosting myself, as it seems to offer everything the linux hosting offers and more, although not sure how to use the extras, ASP and such.

I've done a little homework and Spunkey's on the money. It's simply to do with cost. Nippynoo - you're right, choosing Windows over Linux gives you more choice than going with Linux (combination of ASP etc along with PHP5).

The Linux platform is aimed towards those starting out or not requiring complex web sites (hosted apps etc).

Here's a useful link: http://www.tsohost.co.uk/hosting.php

Thanks for your advice guys - hopefully this thread might benefit others stuck making a decision!
