Linux SMP - different loads

Anyone else noticed that the crunching a 2604 significantly increases the temps inside your PC over 3025's

I only noticed this last night as my fans ramped up (from near silent) every 15mins or so for 2-3minuts (as my steps are 13min's I guess it's connected)

Could be the raptor writing data - with 8.5x number of Atoms than the 3025's

Didn't have time to check the temps this morning to confirm (not enought sleep after the epic post count last night

Don't have any way to monitor temps on this system and most of the fans are fixed speed anyway, so if there's a problem, I'll not notice it.

I don't think it's a problem - fans were on lowest speed, (30%) for near silient operation and temps are usually around 42 at this speed.
uGURU is set to increase fan speed at CPU temps of 50 degress (exhaust fan 50%), & 55 degress (intake fan 50%) 65 (70% all) 70 (100% all)

Not really checked uGURU since I started with the SMP stuff - but fans untill now have been quiet so temp can't have been over 50 untill now...

... I did take my PC for a drive the other day, to help a forum member out - might have reduced the contact on the HSF, but that was before I set up SMP .... will check actual temps tonight, before it uploads at 8ish.

Edit: @Mikey - I think your right that extra 10% would equate to a few degrees and just pushes my over the 50 Degree threshold durring data write, especially if I'm running a little bit hotter that before the drive

If you load system monitor in ubuntu what do your cores show when your crunching a 2604 compared to a 3025?

Got home to late to check - but my system monitor doesn't show temps, and can't find a option activate temp monitoring in edit>preferences>processes

That said uGuru is showing 36 idle and 43-44 load (two standard clients 2125's) so it's not a heatsink issue as that normal for me (7 degree gain - love this C2D/xp120 combo)

when I restarted the client this morning - I got a 2605, temps normal
