Im getting a old laptop tomorrow and im planning to install Ubuntu Linux on it.

Can someone suggest a good USB or PCMCIA wireless adapter that has drivers bundled with Ubuntu?

I require G speeds and WPA-PSK / TKIP encryption support.

Thanks a lot!

Not sure about bundled drivers, but the Netgear WG511T card (up to 108Mbps and fits all your requirements) works great with the Madwifi-NG drivers. (http://madwifi.org/)

Not only that but it supports promiscous mode, packet injection and a few other 'fun things'...

It's an Atheros chipset too which is one of the recommended ones for 'nix.

Depending on how old, old is. Mine is 5 years old. Look under the laptop for a cover over the mini-pci slot, if it has one. Mine has, and I got myself an Intel Pro Wireless 2100 b, mini-pci card, they also do a 2200 g card. Anyway, never had a problem with Linux detecting it.
