Looking for a light 2 in 1 tablet/laptop that can be carried around for relatively basic browsing (3/4 tabs open at once), some office work and not a lot else.

Close to taking the plunge on the Linx 1010b with keyboard case at £140, before doing so I thought I'd get a more knowledgeable opinion so if anyone can say yes the Linx is great value, or no the xyz 2 in 1 is a better option go for that, that would be much appreciated! Budget is under £200 as it is only going to be used once or twice a week (got a half decent Dell laptop for other uses) but the cheaper the better as always.

Cheers!

Unless the quality has dropped since I had some hands on with them then on a budget you are going to be hard pressed to beat the 1010b - there are some quite nice devices if you up the budget a bit but probably overkill for that kind of use.

Many thanks Rroff. I could potentially push for a bit more but I just don't think I would benefit from it. It's literally just a machine to leave on the side and have quick access to when I want to do a bit of browsing or perhaps watch some Sky Go on etc.

I bought one for my dad to use and he does use it everyday for basic browsing and emails.

It is compromised in resolution so I might hesitate to use it seriously for editing but for very occasional use it would be OK.

The magnetic dock isn't that strong so it does tend un-dock when adjusting the tablet angle on your lap as the hinge is quit stiff not such a problem on a flat surface though. Other than that it feels quite well made.

For a Windows 10 tablet it was the best value I found at the time which also had some favorable reviews as well.

Brilliant - cheers. Opening multiple tabs okay when browsing? I like to have say for example football scores open on one page, couple of forums open on another and a couple of office documents all at once. Handle this no problem? The Lenovo Miix looks to be the next best contender at a slightly steeper price but a better screen.

only probably with the first version is if you get one that has the turn on issue. ie it doesnt turn on every now and again. Like mine.

I have to put it on charge for a bit then I can turn it on.

V2 is basically the same as V1 I believe apart from some slight changes.
