Lion, creating a HD DVD from .mkv movie clip over 2 disks.

I would have thought you would need to get Compressor to do that, although I'm unsure how it will handle MKV files.

There is the "Share function" in FCPx, havent got access to it right now so I can't say what options it has, might be worth a look though.
 
HD-DVD? Not possible, its a dead format.

FCPX will output directly to blu-ray if you want, thou I do this to an image on a HD then burn later.
 
Playback on what? Are you just looking to split the file over multiple disks? You won't get HD quality out of any DVD (I'm thinking you know this, hence wanting to clarify the wording you're using :)).
