Lion erase data

Considering I am trying to sell my MBP I have stoped using it.

Didn't come with a Lion (or SL) disc.

Is the best way to erase everything the utility where it just says erase and I pick how many wipes? Presumably this doesn't uninstall the OS but just all the data, settings, apps?

If you choose erase it will unsurprisingly wipe the entire hard drive

You'll be left with a blank HDD.

But you could always just erase the partition and leave the recovery partition available to re-download Lion? I think.

Just thought I would reinstall, Cmd R on startup and it downloaded and is installing now

Solved, boot into recovery mode, erase data from there, then jist install. Was a bit odd because my net being silly but it worked
