Hi all..

Everytime I boot my MBP up I'm presented with a default finder window in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to stop this? I just want to boot into a nice clean screen.

Also, I've noticed in Lion that when shutting down it asks if I want to save window layout, I never do so is there a way to take this option away rather than having to click it each time.

Snow Leopard never did these 2 things.

Thanks

Sounds like you might have finder set to open on startup? Certainly doesn't do it on mine. Check under Login Items which I think is under Users in System Preferences.

You can stop Lion from always asking that question as well. Can't remember the method of doing so but a quick google will show you how

Im actually quite suprised Apple didn't change this in the first firmware update, it irritates me wasnt sure if you could change it will look when I get home!

Thanks will check those out.
As for the first issue, the only thing I have starting at logon is ituneshelper, but I always get finder opening up the Mac HD on first boot.. Very annoying.

Nice one, just realised it was doing it on mine but because I open FF at startup it was hidden behind that so I never noticed. :D
