Lion vs SL Mail?

I have a lot of issues with Lion compared to SL, but I can get on with most of them... One crazy-annoying downgrade is the way Mail now searches, does anyone know if there are any third party tweaks or anything that can make it work properly again like in Snow Leopard?

What is it you've noticed about the way it searches? I can't say I've really noticed much of a difference and I use it for work most days.. The most annoying thing I found was the way it organises email into conversations.. but I can turn that off!

It just doesn't find things, I've manually gone through and found emails that should have shown up in searches and just didn't...

Same on my iMac, Mac Mini & Macbook Air.

Not kidding at all, I have to look for stuff all the time so I can get back to customers etc... and look at threads for support issues and always find what I need. I've just never found it to be an issue!

it may not be mail but spot light causing the issue. As that's what it uses to search for emails. To re-index turn spotlight on and off, the issue can be caused if its was an upgrade rather than a clean install.
