I'm trying to sort out the lip sync on my tv with amp and speakers. Whatever adjustment I try on the TV it still doesn't look right and it's driving me mad. I think it is the audio lagging behind the picture.

Apple have a solution for this but it looks like it needs an iPhone and I don't have one:

I'm thinking of buying another amp with sync adjustments but not sure if that's the best solution. An Android equivalent of the app above would be perfect.

TV is LG 55UJ634V, amp is a Topping MX3 fed through SPDIF

The Apple solution is for users of Apple TV media streamers, and it uses an iPhone as a way to monitor the audio. I could be wrong, but I doubt you'll find that just the app and an iPhone works on its own with any other source such as Freeview/Sky/other streaming sources etc.

For sort of the same reason, I'd be very surprised (and incredibly impressed) if there's an Android version that works with all different sources.

A/V sync delays are a pain, but you need to know that there isn't one setting that will work for all your sources. Even with TV channels, you'll get differences between stations and also between those using PCM and those outputting DD.

The closest anyone has come to a global solution is by using HDMI ARC between a compatible TV and AV Receiver. The idea is that the TV passes the advance/delay flag info to the audio receiver, and then by using the communication possible via HDMI, they negotiate the closest adjustment for the particular source being played with respect to any inherent sync plus the effects of any delays from video processing.

It sounds like I need an AVR with ARC then.
I was hoping something like the Nvidia Shield Pro would do this kind of thing but apparently not.

That video is great, I used the slo-mo function on my phone camera to get it set perfectly but unfortunately the delay on YouTube doesn't match some of the Netflix content I want to get in sync.

Does your amp have a auto lip sync function?

Mine is pretty old but had better results by turning that off and setting a manual delay.

Still get it a bit but once you notice these things its very hard not to notice it.

This is something that drove me round the bend for ages OP, but i have found a way round it that works for me. I have a soundbar connected via HDMI to my TV using the TV's ARC socket.
When i want to watch TV through SkyQ, i switch the sound bar on first then the TV and wait for the TV to tell it has no source. Then i turn on the SkyQ box. This method works for me for about 95% of the channels i watch on SkyQ.
My Bluray player has a dedicated audio only HDMI output connected directly to the soundbar and has never been an issue at all.
