LIQUID / FLUID PAGES NEED INFO!

Basically, i've heard tonnes about these liquid pages that only take up a certain proportion / percentage of the page up according to monitor size. I really want to create a website as a project, but I want to know as much as possible about these types of things. Any info would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!
