liquid metal cooling

I wondered what had happened to this tech - saw them talking about it a couple of years ago - seemed like a really good idea, but then it all went quiet - like the website - very slick - hope the cooler performs to the same standard.

I remember reading about the LM10 when it first appeared, great idea but sadly it turned out to be a bit of a let down. Hopefully they can improve on the idea with this new version.

Even if it works the way they say it does, it still has a teen-weeny surface area to get rid of all that heat. And the Akasa version hasn't exactly set the world on fire at £50.

SilenX fans? Oh dear!

Why does that bloody website have that background noise! I opened it and minimized firefox forgetting it was there, then started unplugging and testing my speakers and pinput cables and every sound setting in windows to try and find the source.

Why would they put that in! For that reason alone I will never ever buy one of those things.

I'm surprised by one thing and one thing only
why no one on the net is like me 'WHAT is the liquid metal?!' lol

It'll be something based on gallium, as the options for metals liquid at room temperature are limited and gallium is considered less poisonous than mercury.

I don't think it's going to be very good. If making the effort to pump metal around instead of using heat pipes, I'd expect them to know enough about aerodynamics to angle the fins in similar fashion to thermalright.
