Liquid Smoke

Does anyone have any strong opinions of what liquid smoke to buy? I'm primarily looking for hickory but a wider variety to try out would be beneficial.

I see there are a few companies that do it, and I've used a friend's before (though I have no idea who made it). As it's coming to winter I'd like to avoid using my actual smoker as it's notoriously difficult to keep a stable temperature.

I use Wright's as it has no chemical additives and they use a filtration process that gets rid of some of the nastier things in smoke... tastes great too. I ended up getting the catering sized, gallon jug. Not only does it work out cheaper, it never goes off and I gave some of it away as little Christmas gifts.

i have been after something like this for a while.. Has anyone tried the Stubbs stuff as it looks like its a lot easier to get hold of than wrights.

for the record, I think Scorchio started doing these too. May be worth checking out, I've ordered plenty of stuff from em and been happy everytime

Yes Stubbs is fine, Colgin is okay to

I think you will find it only contains chemical additives.
