AMD’s Lisa Su’s eyes a role at IBM
Lisa Su will go down in history as one of the most successful tech CEOs, having turned around AMD’s CPU side and making the PC market competitive once again. But while many of us like to think of her as a pillar of AMD, she has her own ambitions and there is a lot of chatter in the upper echelons of the company that she is planning to move on from AMD.
According to my sources, Lisa Su is eyeing the #2 position at IBM with the eventual goal to end up as CEO and President of IBM, replacing Ginni Rometty. The advanced groundwork for this transition has apparently already been laid down as you will read further in this article. While I do not know the exact reasons for why Lisa would choose IBM of all companies to move to, I am told that this is something that she has wanted for a very long time.
Lisa Su is planning to launch AMD’s Rome CPUs tomorrow and from everything we have heard so far, it is going to be a resounding success. Leaving the company in a technically and financially sound condition means that her successor should have a fairly easy job until Intel rolls out its response to AMD’s Zen parts. Lisa, however, was not completely satisfied with replacements existing within AMD and this is where a recent hiring comes into play.

And there it is. WCCFtits make a living from making up stuff.

I remember when my hopes and dreams of Fury X significantly beating 980 Ti at launch because of their made-up benchmark graphs were shattered on launch day. Never again.

Absolutely false, it would be a disaster if Lisa Su left as there is still a lot work to be done AMD. The full recovery has barely started.

Hey Raven.

Thanks for your own thoughts on the article. The way you have articulated your argument encourages further discussion on what is a complex topic. We all appreciate the time and effort you put into your post.

Lisa Su seems to have a great position atm,

heading up a thriving tech company thats competing well on multiple fronts, (well gaining ground on Nvidia and bitchslapping the dominant player in the CPU market hard atm) R&D money to spend now and what seems like a happy team who are all on the up and up, both next gen consoles tied in to AMD and Rome coming out imminently, and even a reasonably friendly family rivalry

wonder what her share options are worth?

To be fair - I've seen it so many times in my career where rumours come out and the executive involved is all like "it is all lies, I love this company, would do anything for this company" - 3 months later leaves for competitor.

Hilarious that she replied directly to it pretty much calling it ********! What a terrible, terrible site. Why is it still even alive? It needs to get shutdown asap

Because it's unhelpful information if the company isn't in a position to guarantee or handle X happening yet.

Sure, investors always want insider information but for the sake of actually being fair to investors nothing should be announced until its ready.
