Going to search for deals over the next few days with these monitors and see if any drop below £400. IPS isn't that important to me but all the better if I can somehow find one for <£400 (hey a guy can dream)

Cheers.

Happy dreams. See you when you wake up. ;)

If you are OK with Freesync, there is the MG279Q for £450. Close as you will get unless you consider second hand or something pops up in B-grade.

I don't think that's completely true. Look at the Acer XF270HU, on **** for £370 (again, freesync unfortunately)

Ah OK, mmm, interesting. Good find. Some of the deals I see on these Freesync monitors make me occasionally wish I had an AMD card lol! G-Sync IPS is just silly in comparison. I know it has the edge and a better range, but I really don't see the justification in that price difference. That said, buying ANY IPS monitor seems very much a lottery these days with BLB and other QC issues.

I agree. But then again they know what they're doing with price points, because I just say "well what's an extra £100 for a gsync model?" and a monitor is an investment. I've got an Nvidia now... and I see nvidia as superior to AMD generally speaking, so I'll probably stick with it in the future when the new generation comes out.

It's so frustrating how they get you. I'll just probably wait for a sale on the S2716DG to be honest now. I prefer G-sync too much.

There are quite a few S2716DG's in B-grade at present for £380 ifyou fancy taking a chance. I don't think warranty is always an issue if you can register it will Dell, then you're covered. People were discussing this in another thread... it's not guaranteed, but potentially not as perilous as OCUK make it sound with their 90 days. Often it can just be a damaged box, nothing wrong with the monitor, hence it being B-grade.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I don't need a new setup until 20th march, so that leaves a good month of deal looking. If at that point, the S2716DG isn't down at the £380 mark, I'll risk a B grade (as long as it can be returned if it has pixel issues).
