I return from my camping trip in France with a mallet finger. For those that don't know the injury it's a broken tendon along the top of the finger so if I bend my finger down I can't straighten the end up again. I did it taking my jeans off, pushed too hard to get them off my fat ass, buckled under my own weight and felt a click in the top of my finger and it was broken. I splinted it immediately and got down the hospital today, but I have to wear a spazzy plastic 'mallet finger' splint for 6-8 weeks to stop my finger bending and allow it to heal.

Luckily it's on the left hand but can't type, picking stuff up, eating, washing, accessing pockets etc all difficult.

As it's such an annoying little injury that's going to haunt me for some time I thought lets find out what you've done that's really got in the way of normal life. Extra points for when something really pathetic has totally messed things up ;)

How long did it take you to type that post with a spaz finger? :p

Me, I suffer from a knackered back, knackered knees, knackered neck and depression. Deep joy.

I sat on a gym bench where someone tried to repair it earlier that day. A wood screw went into my buttock and straight in the bone. When i got up, the bench came up with it.

Yes.. I had two holes :)

That's impression broken finger by taking jeans off. Wont some one think of the Kids and ban these dangerous contraptions that are jeans.

whilst oxy propane cutting got some **** up my nose. Needless to say a yelp and a prolonged burning smell later. My nose constantly ran and felt awkward for a few weeks. Very annoying for such a small injury.

I've an assortment of bruises from mosh pits several whelts on mah back from being hit with a cane and a painful shoulder from carrying too much to and from mah car but....It was download and so totally worth it!

most annoying was when i cut my head open snowboarding, you are in pain moving, talking, eating and you feel the stitches pulling so you end up staying in bed for the most part bored as you cant sit up to play games

Although on a plus side i watched the whole series of naruto and bleach (from the beginning) and got me into anime so silver lining etc..

I've got more welding burns than I can list, doesn't matter how careful you are you still get them :D

Got a molten blob end up in my belly button when I was welding under the car once. Got it out as quick as I could but it infected, blew up in a massive pus balloon and then proceded to ooze green slime for weeks :(

Currently I have a shagged thumb I don't know why, mostly hurts when people shake my hand for some reason. But also hurts randomly, I think the bone is bruised or something.

Two knackered ankles due to Judo and BJJ, I don't think they will ever fully get better anymore they are always knackered. Right one is really bad at the moment and I can't kick when im doing Thai at the moment.

Burnt my hads when I was 14, quite badly too. "Almost cooked them" was the Doc's words. Anyway, hands were sealed in plastic bags for 3 days. Mum had to wash me :/

I have a really rubbish back injury from being dropped off a climbing wall 4 years ago. Its fine mostly until i go to sleep, dont think theres been a night in the last 2 years where i havent woken up with an aching back.

Knackered my thumb a few years ago. I inexplicably managed to ski over it and tore a tendon as the ski went through. It's almost fine again now, but is still quite stiff when trying to grip stuff.

Ouch. yeah got loads on my hands and legs. Fall down the top of your glove or the top of your boots and get stuck. Managers are like how can you burn yourself you're wearing flame resistant overalls. Yeah flame resistant not melt proof.

Nerve damage to my right thumb from a bike accident, came off after hitting some greasy whitelines and bounced down the road causing quite a few nasty injuries. However, amongst the various other more serous injuries the only one that gives me gyp these days is my thumb. I can't feel anything along the top and every now and then it spasms.

Mate was welding once and put the palm of my hand on a molten blob lol.

Broke my collar bone in motorcycle accident and neck still gives me problems 20 years later.

I realllllly hurt my jaw years ago when eating... to the point i had to stop and thought i had broke it or something! lol

Now sometimes and during some specific movements it kinda has a wee millisecond click/grind :(

Knackered left ring finger. No idea what I did to it, but on a night out I must have banged it or something. Since then the slightest knock and it is in agony. I can't put much pressure on it. But I can type fine :p

Managed to get a bit of rust in my eye one time when working under the car. Nothing unusual in that, happens all the time. Usually a quick wipe on my tshirt sorts it and carry on only this time it had got right under my eyelid and I couldn't shift it. Wiping, eye baths, even holding a strong magnet to my eye and trying to manipulate it out was getting me nowhere.

After a good couple of hours of faffing around I eventually conceded my manliness and let my GF take me down to A&E. Got there, went to reception and answered 101 questions whilst my eye was still being really uncomfortable finally told to go an sit in the waiting area and someone would see me. After a few minutes of waiting I suddenly realised my eye didn't hurt anymore. Somehow without me noticing after hours of trying everything the bit of rust had gone. I then had to sit there and wait my turn so I could go and see the doc and tell him "Sorry for wasting your time it's fixed itself".

I was headbutted in the jaw by my 2yo last month. It hurt to chew for a week!

I'm currently suffering from a dodgy left knee. I don't know what's wrong with it but I can't fully bend it to kneel on and if I sit still for more than 30mins it really stiffens up & I end up limping for a while when I get up. I'm pretty sure it all stems from a bad tackle on the school rugby pitch 15 years ago.
