List your useful apps that don't need to install

I love useful applications that just run for the .exe and don't need to be installed onto the computer. Some of the useful ones I use are: -

CPU-Z http://http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
GPU-Z
IPScan http://www.angryziber.com/w/Home

Ccleaner (copy the .exe from the install location and can be run from a memory stick)

List any programs you use that don't need to be installed

A43 file manager. Its a replacement for Windows Explorer, brilliant app and it does not install anything. Unzip and just run it

You could try the gimp. Might be a bit complex

Actually I've installed it, copied the directory to a USB stick, un-installed it and the program works straight off the stick

I'll try it with GIMP now because thats got an installer too.

Well up to yet I've found some very useful programs I should be able to use on my very heavily locked down NHS PC.

A43 File Manager (does anybody know how I can show the file extensions?)
FileZilla - I can now hopefully FTP into my server
GIMP - excellent, makes you wonder why Photoshop costs so much.

This could be really useful.
At the moment I'm working with a graphic designer on a brochure that will go nationwide and he is writing in Illustrator.
He sends PDF's but I need to edit some of the stuff he sends.
Anybody got a simple AI extension file they can send me?
I've been looking all over google for some examples.

Try MPC with the CCCP codec pack. Or VLC. There is a 7z archive version that doesn't need installing. Just run vlc.exe. No need for codecs then.
