Depends on the game, in FPS's I usualy only like to have the sound of the game so I don't miss anything.

When playing WoW however I tend to listen to Electro/Techno albums, Pantha Du prince, The Field, Gregor Tresher, Midnight Juggernauts, Röyksopp and Trentemøller to name a few, just stuff that can be listened to in the background and not distracting.

I set the volume up in such a way that I can hear what's happening in the game, but also hear my fav track's in the background. Help's me concentrate. lol !
