I don't know if i'm just starting to get old, but the wife does say I could get a regular spot on grumpy old men.

I'm 25 and to the very best of my knowledge, i've never knowingly dropped any litter in the streets or in the park or anywhere. I'm sure when i was a small child i dropped things but for as long as i can remember, any rubbish either went into the nearest bin, or went into my pocket/bag until i got to a bin.

Why is it that so many people think its acceptable to just discard thier crap wherever they are standing? I just don't get it. Is it a lack of discipline as a child? Did they see thier parents do it and assume that its ok?

I know for a fact that there will be people here who do it, and its certainly not just the Daily Mails "Youth" to blame for it all, I've seen more than enough grown adults into their 50s leave cans on the street, tuck their burger king bag under the seat on the train etc. So why?

wtf is wrong with people?

FAKE EDIT: in before "so dat the road sweepers hav a job man innit"

I HATE littering with a passion. When I see people do it, I really want to pick it up and shove it up their noses / in their ears / beat them to death with it.

Same for people who throw tab ends out the car etc.

As a cleaner it's one of the biggest things that I have to hold my tongue about. It's pathetic really. People are lazy, and/or they just don't care. They haven't had the morals trained into them and as a result, they think it's okay because people will clean it up for them.

That's hardly the point of course, just because part of my job includes picking up litter, that doesn't justify the blatent disregard for other people, the environment around them, the people who have to clean up after them, and the sheer laziness.

Unfortunately there are a lot of pathetic excuses for human beings walking around this country.

Littering doesn't bother me unless it's in a park or wooded area, but people who let there dog's **** all over the place deserve to be castrated.

The local retail park car park is literally covered in burger boxes and chicken buckets from the nearby Maccers and KFC left by the 2fast4ya'll saxo club every night. It looks disgusting and this guy has to pick it up every morning only for it to reappear the next day.

Littering really annoys me, there is no need. Seeing someone stood a yard from a bin and instead of binning it drop it on the floor and walk off, that grinds my gears:mad:.

 Littering is so bloody annoying! Especially when there is a bin about 20 yards away and people just drop it and you mention it to them and they still do nothing

Yup, I hate it too, even more so in rural areas. There is building work going on across the road from my house at the moment, and many of the builders sit in their cars at lunch time and chuck their empty sandwich wrappers/cans over the wall in the field across from my house, it's pathetic.

In College there were a couple of people who would openly stand there talking to you and drop litter, I lost a couple of friends because I would ask them to pick it up, no great loss.

There's just no excuse. Even if there isn't a bin in proximity it's hardly difficult to keep hold of your litter/put it into your pocket until you find a bin.
