Hello,

Not quite sure if this is the right place but here goes...

For most of today I have heard a loud chirping noise from outside which is very strange for these parts. I couldn't see anything out of the window so I just forgot about it.

But just now I have come outside and noticed a little birdy sat in the corner of my yard. I've been in an out a few times over the past hour and he hasn't moved.

There is another similar looking bird around the place which i think is the source of the chirping so I can only assume that's the mother looking for it?

Am I supposed to just leave the little Chap where he is? I'm a bit worried for him as there are loads of cats around here and it's only a matter of time before he's discovered sadly.

Follow the link for little birdy.

Is it normal for the parent to be making such a racket?

Like I said I just feel like a cat's gonna get it, I saw one in next doors garden not long ago :(

glad he learned to fly in the end and got away must be parents and instinct somehow ?

Parents or birds chirping away I think indicates danger since I usually see them doing that when cats are close by, either that or its telling their kids off to come towards them or escape

Yeah my dad suggested that the parent bird makes a big racket to keep attention of any potential predators away from the young. He could be talking complete cobblers for all I know though
