i'm having to do this via my ps3 so i apologise if the wording is off.

pc is as sig, currently running stock, bios 0902.

i just uninstalled my video driver so could reinstall, 64bit 169.25.
reboot pc, windows reloads, get the vista jingle etc, but i can't see anything.
monitor goes into standby once the loading goes past the ms loading bar. i can to bios ok and safe mode is fine.

i'm stuck!

how long should the 'preparing to restore your system......' take?

been 35 minutes now, starting to get a little nervous.

should i leave it doing its thing??

or

reboot and boot from vista dvd and attempt a repair ?

Phew....

All fixed:)

The system restore in safe mode would not work, neither would a repair with the vista disc. The repair actually found nothing wrong, after all the system would boot, I'd hear the jingle I just could not see anything.

When these 2 failed to work a certain part of my anatomy started to twitch!

However, the fix was simple yet weird.

There were no nvidia drivers installed when the error/**** up (delete where appropriate!!) occurred as it firsted happened on a reboot after uninstalling them.

I went into safe mode and was checking the add/remove programs and the drivers were still there - I deleted them, rebooted, re-installed and now I'm cooking on gas again.

I could have sworn they weren't there before when I first booted safe mode, or maybe I'm just blind

Anyways thanks for the pointers
