Little bit of this, little bit of that.... (56K no!)

Very Nice!

You got any pics of the new interior?

I'm going to look at a 1.8is on wednesday, hopefully the weather will be good.

Loved your vid as well. :D

Do the style bars offer any protection?

A very very sweet looking MX5 mate.

Cheers fella, cleaning it is almost an addiction atm, it gets dirty so quick, i tend to do lots of narrow lane backroad stuff and the amount of dirt up the sills is a joke!

Can't wait to see yours in all its glory hope all is going to plan ;)

I need a grill to protect my RAD its so exposed and expensive to replace!

Also that strut brace is on my list, need to figure how hard it is to fit, read some offputting reviews on MX5Parts but most people are not mechanicaly minded.

Cheers dude,

Legally they won't say if it offers any additional protection, you gain some upper body strength and its gotta offer better roll protection than the top of the headrests ;)

Will get some proper interior shots soon, only ones i've got is when the car was apart while fitting the audio.

It's going in for the ECU tuning on Wednesday hopefully if all goes well! :D

Yeah getting a grille even to protect the radiator is well worth it IMO - and seeing as you like chrome so much it'll finish off your car beautifully ;) Actually I do love chrome inside the engine bay, and seriously though the contrast works really well on yours. :)

You've made me wanted to clean it - well I will have to once the grease is off her :o Having looked at where the lower strut fits, it doesn't look like a hard job at all.

The style/roll bar is definitely one thing that I think makes it look that little bit better. Can't find one in matt black that I like at the moment...

That looks awesome, the black and the chrome works really well!

Will have to get a look in the flesh at some point :)

Looks great
Ive only ever sat in one of these and even though it wasnt moving i felt like i was going really fast :p

Will you be removing the fried egg look on the front lights?

Its a pain like Freefaller pointed out, i was under the impression i simply needed some Silvervision bulbs, had a play around during the weekend and headlight unit actually contains the orange reflector so i would need to take the unit apart then replace this :(

not normally a fan of mx5's (in terms of looks), but yours and other mk2's are looking very good recently!

looking good mate, not usually a fan of the filler caps (espeshally at the price) but it does look damn good on the black.

Should really sort out the clear relectors on mine but everytime i go onto mx5parts i end up with a couple of hundred pound shopping basket and have to stop myself going broke!

Why would they do such a thing :(

Looks nice. Can't say I see the point to style bars. If you're going to add weight to a car, at least make it do something useful.

Ref the pads, I added greens to mine. From cold they're just like normal brakes. Get em warmed up and it's like having F1 brakes on the front. Certainly helps you exploit the grip available from the tyres.
I had my IL strut brace fitted by my local dealer, 30 min job. Well worth the cost.

Serj: breathing mods do virtually nothing on an MX. I added a K&N panel filter, which made it sound a little better, but really made zero change to the performance. I don't believe that anyone even claims that it will help an MX. A supercharger is a different matter altogether. There are several options including the Jackson racing supercharger and the Flying Miata turbos/superchargers. Everthing I've read implies that you should not bother mucking about, but go for the FM units, which are meant to be the dogs danglies. Personally I'm not convinced by the idea of spending £3k on a car that's not worth that much more. I'd rather look at a s/h Chimera, but that's just me.

It does do something useful, it makes the car look a hell of a LOT better!

Yup the FM turbo is the one to go for. Damned my love for modifying cars :o

As for brake pads I use axxis brake pads - they are very impressive. The 1.8is doesn't really need much bigger brakes at all (unless you're tracking it all the time, but even then the standard discs are fine) - just a decent set of pads will help lots though.

You *can* get improvements with a cold air feed, but you're looking at a really rather expensive one (coming onto £200), and really you'd need an ecu tweak to get the best out of it. Not really that worth it IMO.
