Recently, I moved from Windows 7 to 8 and also changed my graphics card (MSI HD7850). Now every now and then I will get maybe 7 or 8 little black squares appearing on the screen, not always in the same place. If I scroll the page I'm on, then scroll back to where they were, they disappear.

I have also, which may well be related to the above, had a couple of black screens, then a message "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered".

Any idea as to what the problem is? Graphics card, drivers, OS?

I've done a refresh of win 8 and so far its been ok.
I have noticed though in event view 3 errors

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070103: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2 - AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series.

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070103: ATK - system - ATK0110 ACPI UTILITY.

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070103: Logitech - WebCam - Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000.

But even with these errors, I've had no black screens or black squares.

I suppose I should now install the latest drivers and see what happens.
