I'm looking to build a new computer with the upcoming release of the 1070. I currently have a R7 260X, so I cant hardly contain my excitement for the 1070 release.
I've made a build that I feel is quite strong for the price and I'd like an insight into any parts that could be recommended for improvement.
I've left a HHD out as I can buy one at another point and I have a copy of windows 10 already.

Ideally the computer is for general use and gaming (No mans sky, Overwatch etc.) but I am looking to maybe do some video editing as a hobby, learn a new skill etc. Using a 1080 monitor right now.

EDITED***
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£194.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (£28.96 @ More Computers)
Other: Thermaltake core P5 (£100.00)
Other: GTX 1070 (£400.00)
Other: Antec H600 Kuhler 120mm AIO Liquid Cooler (£37.00)
Other: Gigabyte Z170-Gaming K3 Intel Z170 (£96.00)
Other: XFX XTR Series 550W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply (£67.00)
Other: Kingston 120GB SSDNow UV400 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 2.5" (£30.00)
Total: £953.95

The price for the 1070 is just the speculated price at this point based on the 1080FE. I don't plan on getting the 1070FE as I believe a lot better cards will come out with more cooling/OC options.

Thank you

EDIT:
Changes made with help from Borealis, kudos for the helpful suggestions!

Welcome back - I see you haven't posted in a while! Quick caution - I'd remove the links and references to competitors as it's against the forum rules.

What's your budget limit? For £1000 you can build a very decent system.

The H55 is OK, but this is cheaper/possibly slightly better:

I'm not a fan of MSI motherboards, but the Z170A-Pro looks OK. Personally I'd spend a little more and stick to Gigabyte or Asus. Something along the lines of these (assuming you won't be using SLI):

8GB RAM is fine for now. If you find you need more, you can always upgrade later.

The SSD you've chosen isn't particularly fast. Kingston changed the controller on the V300s and they turned out to be slower than the review samples (or so I heard). This is a newer model and also faster:

With this spec, you only need a decent 550W PSU, even with overclocking. The EVGA NEX PSUs are an old model and aren't that good. The EVGA G2 and GS series are great, as are the XFX XTR series if you want a fully modular PSU.

XFX XTR 550W

EVGA GS550W - out of stock at the moment

There is also a G2 550W, but OCUK don't stock it.

If a modular PSU doesn't matter, then this is a good choice:

I have edited, thank you, completely blanked that rule for some reason!

Yeah budget is around £1000, spot on.

That cooler does look a lot better, thanks! I'll make that change.

The gigabyte board looks a lot better than the one I've chosen! I'll more than likely change that also.

I assumed with the ram its simple to upgrade so I can always make that change as and when its needed.

I did hear that the SSD I chose can slow down after a few months use, but wasn't 100%, thanks for the updated version.

Ill switch to a 550W then, I chose modular because the case is very open, it would just look a hell of a lot better without all those cables! :P

Thanks for your input! Ill make sure to make those changes!

Go with a 550W modular then. If you're not bothered about the LEDs (which you can't turn off), then the Superflower Leadex 550W is a good choice. The EVGA G2 series are basically Leadex units minus the LEDs and a longer warranty:

RAM upgrades are easy, so yeah, no need to go with 16GB just yet. If you find you need more, then another 8GB isn't breaking the bank.

OCUK have a special arrangement with ASUS now, so you don't have to worry about the sometimes poor ASUS support:

If you're going to be video editing, then you'll need a HDD for bulk storage. Video files can be very large if you record in decent quality.

Although you dont need 16GB ram at the moment, I would still add this to your build instead, as its faster and only £16 more for an extra 8GB. Common sense really :)

P.S all your links still link to competitors.

I may do this when the time comes, 16gb seems overkill right now, but I may defiantly look into it. I'm waiting for the price of the 1070 release first, that kind of gives me wiggle room for other parts this pay cheque. (16gb RAM, 2TB HHD, Mech keyboard). When I said future I didn't mean too distant. Thank you though, I have edited my original post.

16GB is not overkill going forward for a mid-high end system. DDR4 prices are in a good place at the moment too.

Your choice of SSD isn't ideal either. You should be looking at 240GB minimum to ensure you don't overfill the drive and slow it down.

Why spend so much on a 1070 and them hamstring your system with a slow and small SSD and too little RAM?

A good build is all about balance.

I've decided to switch it up and get the 16gb, I switched the case also, I think cooling would have been a problem in the one I picked as the fans would be against the side of the case. I also took your advice and went for the 240GB SSD. I think I was just cheaping out.

This is currently the list.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£194.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Case: Corsair Carbide 400C ATX Mid Tower Case (£75.99 )
Other: GTX 1070 (£400.00)
Other: Antec H600 Kuhler 120mm AIO Liquid Cooler (£37.00)
Other: Gigabyte Z170-Gaming K3 Intel Z170 (£96.00)

Other: Kingston 240GB SSDNow UV400 Drive SATA (£45.00)

Total: £960.98

An another note. I'm considering buying these parts early and fitting my old R7 260x into it until I can get my hands on the 1070. With the drivers when switching the cards, will I encounter any problems with the transition? Or should it be smooth? Thanks again

When you change the GPUs over, just make sure you thoroughly uninstall the old drivers. Then just pop in the new card and install the nvidia drivers.

That build's looking pretty good now. I do agree that 16GB RAM is very sensible while prices are good. Also, a 240GB SSD is a much better idea.

Ah okay, just a case of uninstalling the drivers for the AMD card, replacing it with the GTX and installing the new ones. Doesn't sound so bad. For under a £1000 built I'm very pleased with the parts I've been recommended, thanks for all the help and advice guys. I'm sure MSI, EVGA cards for the 1070 will be cheaper than the 400 FE one so it may be even less!

Yes, GPU changeovers are fairly straightforward as long as the old drivers are properly removed. Wait and see what the 1070 price comes out as. Hopefully they'll be £400ish.
