Little Chef closing?

I think some big company bought it, so I dont think it's gone completely

yeh, but they didnt buy them all, so i think its like 40% of them are closing

They have been closing for years, you very ocasionaly find the odd one, but as its a franchise, those that can keep going, my local one just turned into Macs Resturant, Another Turned into "Asian Resturant", only one I know now is on the way back from Hudders, and I love Little Chef, even if it is expensive!

The company was rescued on the 3 January 2007 by RCapital, a UK private equity group, who have paid less than £10m. However, 39 of the 235 branches were not included in the sale, and were closed immediately – the remaining restaurants are continuing to operate normally. Although it would seem that the general public is fond of the brand, development is needed, to get customers back through the doors, after years of underinvestment and neglect by companies who only wanted to make a quick profit.

i expect its the 40% that werent making any money because they where vrun by 16yo people who didnt have a clue...............

last time i went to little chef i ordered a pankcake and a glass of coke, the pancake was black, the coke tasted like horse ****, the plate and glass looked like they were used 10 times that day without being washed, and i was served by spotty teenagers

so i can't exactly say im gonna miss the place ;D

yea there are at least a few of them still going. found a voucher in the paper the other day for a free pancake there on shrove tuesday

I think they're still under administration, PWC sold around 200 of their sites to pay debts though. Last one I used was on the wirral and I had to eat there for a week, it wasn't great and it was quite expensive.

Haven't actually seen a little chef on my travels since I was about 6 and we stopped in once on the way back from Wales  .

Didn't even know they were still going.

Little chief is a great example of how if a company doesn't keep up with the times it dies.

Really we no longer live in the 60's get to grips.

only been into a little chef twice..

once when was v young and was alright

tried last year but got "sorry sir it will be an hour wait for a table"

The last time I was in a Little Chef, I was extremely hungover and pulled over for the sake of my life and licence. I lashed an 'Olympic' breakfast into me and on the way out, brought it up beside the till as I was paying the young girl. I really should have apologised for handing her a tenner covered in masticated bacon, eggs and mushrooms. I made a swift exit.

Worst breakfast ever. I'll never go back there.

Good riddance.
